i dunno if your parent looks older than 18 then i guess they wont know but why would you not be able to be in the mall without a parent over 18??

I think it's fine. It doesn't require them to be with you at all times, only after a certain time. Besides, people user 18 can be so stupidly immature it makes me want to vomit. (That sounds hypocritical though, since I'm under 18, but I never said I was always mature)

i would have said yes it is fair right away but then you got a good point..some parents arent 18 yet...well then, life's unfair. dont get pregnant before the age of 18. or...have that minor mom bring her mom. face the consequences of the choices you make. i think that rule is necessary... some places need the age requirements (not the mall though). reader of this post must think im a b*tch now but too darn bad

would you want kids gambling in casinos? i wouldn't. i think it's fine, you aren't doing something at the mall that your parents wouldn't approve of right?

If your parents are 18, going to the mall should be the least of your worries. Getting fed, and getting your diaper changed should be your major ones.

For everyone who is under 18 and has normal aged parents, there is most likely a reason why those rules are set. And it's up to the mall or your parents to decide wether you should comply with them.

Ok.. the parents under 18 thing.. dont think we need to worry about that.. yeah.. a little toddler wandering all alone in the mall... rolleyes.gif

Anyways.. well it depends on the age.. say a 8 year old wandering alone by themselves.. might be an easy target for some deranged kidnappear or something.. but as teenagers.. I think we should be allowed.. perhaps not alone.. but in groups.. why not? I mean.. what kind of trouble might happen? there're plenty of security guards at the mall.. a group of kids would be able to call for help if something were to occur.. this topic seems kinda.. pointless

if your parent was under age 18, then you wouldnt be capable of being out by yourself anyway. even in the most severe case (girls starts period young, gets pregnant at 9 [which is incredibly farfetched as it is]) the child still couldnt be over 8 or 9, in which case they should be supervised anyway. no more hypothetical situations for you

if your parent is under 18, you're 6, at the oldest. i don't know many 6 year olds who want to go to the mall on a saturday night.

I also agree that it's not fair, but yeah ^, I don't think there are many circumstances where a parent who is under 18 will have to worry about their child going to the mall late at night.

i guess the hypothetical situation has been killed.

but you know, there still remains that teenagers are often discriminated against by stores, cities, and schools. and people, but that's allowed.

however; that would mean driving is discriminatory as well as drinking.

children are, of course, not like adults.

teenagers, likewise, are not like children or adults.

therefore, there should be a separate group.

minors (children 12 and under)

medials( 13-18)

majors (19 and up)

minors and medials should be able to show ID and not pay sales tax, if they can prove it's for them and not thier parents.

medials should not be discriminated against; at this point they are mostly able to take care of themselves.

medials should also be able to participate, to some degree, in politics. they should be able to elect thier own medial representative who will represent their interests in the city council. they should be able to lobby. they should have a 'union' of sorts.

Just for the sake of saying-
If your parent is under the age of 18, you probably have no comprehension of being anywhere, or what is going on. You might be talking, but that doesn't do a whole lot. You would be everywhere with your parent(s). I don't see 4 year olds walking around in malls by them selves, they are usually accompanied by a parent anyways.

i think it is fine. kids/minors that are out by themselves make bad choices and do bad stuff. with parents being with them will really help cut down on stuff like that. and if the parents are under 18, i doubt their kids will be old enough to want to hang out in the mall by themselves. wink.gif

i see your point with the fact that a parent could be under 18 and not be able to get in. think about it more teens are making babies...
