tan/pale Options

Sooo fairly recently the trend has been dark, tan, sun-kissed skin. Before that fair white ivory-toned skin. With all the talk of skin cancer etc. which would you prefer? D you think the medical risk is worth the look? Do you wear sunscreen?

I am fair skinned and I usually put sunscreen on my face before I go out since everywhere else is covered up for this cold weather. I think a little tan is ok. Rather be a fake tan than laying out in the sun.

No...i don't think anyone should risk cancer just for looks. I get a tan all the time with sunscreen on, so it's better to be safe than sorry

I think...it more depends on your "look"..I know I wouldn't look good super tan..some people have the whole pale things going for them lol..but I don't think one is better then the other.

I'm mexican so I tan pretty easy. But even though it tans easy, I still wear sunscreen.

i wear sunscreen, because i really dont tan reguardless. i burn, stay red for a couple of days, then go back to being pale again. theres really no happy medium for me

well im already a coffee skin tone so i dont wanna get any darker or lighter and i think that is very unhealthy to tan ur skin and what not... ick..i dunno how those ppl can go into those tanning booths ..id freak out....

I don't think that tanning is really worth the risk. Why not just stay safe without tanning? Or limit it to the minimum. I don't really worry about it much, but I am mexican so I never really had to.

i am naturally dark but whenever i wear sunscreen, i still get a tan. i like to be really dark!

I'm really pale, and it's almost impossible for me to get a tan. Not that I'd want one... I love my skin color.

To me...unnaturally tanned skin = ugly.

Tan = Makes you look healthier.

I'm SO pale. I could care less about the trends or whatever, it's just I would prefer to be a little darker. Don't wanna look like Casper The Ghost.

im light skinned. i really cant change that---since im irish. even wen i do try to tan, i dont get that dark. yeah i wear sunscreen in the summer.

I get really tanned in the summer, so it's not much of a problem wanting to get tan or not. I rarely get burnt, but I still put on sunscreen.

I'm deff pale, and since I dont wear shorts, my legs haven't seen much sun, except when I go swimming, and since I never get out of the pool, I'm really pale, and I always wear sun screen.

for fucks sake, i am SOOOO WHITE. i usually stay white over the summer...only on rare occasions do i get a natural tan. usually its from burning too.

i've always had really tan skin, i think its really stupid for peopel to get a tan becae its"cool" like i think they should put tanning oil so they dont get burnt but yah, i agree withy ou, the look isn't worth chance of cancer

I'm mixed, so I have a natural tan..not too dark...just about the color people pay for :D And I never really go outside (cuz I look grey when I tan anyway) so I don't really use sunscreen. even when I am in the sun, I never burn. but my cousin lauren is white and blonde, bleaches her hair and she tans so much shes like three shades darker than me. She looks like some beach whore from california. And its so stupid cuz her dad already had melanoma (sp?) for tanning all the time, but she does it anyway. Its like, youre 20 years old, you should know better.

im pretty pale. well. i'm like 2 shades before of being "regular tan". yeahhh. tan makes you look healthier, so over the summer i'm gonna be tanning :]

i'm filipino, so i'm brown skinned, & plus, i live where summer is year-round. i don't use sunscreen.

no, i think risking your health is not a good idea just for looks.
