I'm gonna break it down like this.

Utada's Exodus CD was weird. I give it a 7.5/10. Her songs were completely weird but her good lyricism (excluding Easy Breezy: "You're easy breezy and I'm Japaneezy.") gave Utada's American debut Exodus a 7.5. Only good songs were Exodus 04', About Me, Animato, Easy Breezy (excluding that one verse I just mentioned), and Kremlin Dusk.

Ayumi Hamasaki is just great. Interesting fact for those who didn't notice: Ayumi Hamasaki is one of Japan's singers who don't put English in their singing. I like that attitude. I usually don't like hearing Asian singers try attempting to put English in their songs unless they're good at singing English (ex: Crystal Kay), therefore Ayumi Hamasaki is better than Utada. Current favorite Ayumi song: Moments.

I like Hikki better I suppose. Only for her Japanese albums. Her english debut bothered me. I don't know why. Ayumi is great too, but she has that generic high pitched voice that alot of other asian singers have. Utada has a smokey type quality to her voice. First Love is my fav album.

I don't like Ayumi's voice in some of her songs. And I do agree with azn_r4pf4n, Utada's English Album is weird. No, to me, it really sucks. But i dont know, I actually like them both. Ayumi's trance tracks are awesome and Utada's love songs are just amazing (ex: First Love). But I buy Utada's CD's more than Ayumi's, since I'm a little picky on Ayu's cd's. I'm planning on buying some trance tracks from her, though.

Anyways I guess I never voted yet. So I did now... I like
Ayumi Hamasaki these days... Just her songs. But I still love
Utada Hikaru, she's sucha cool person even though i didn't meet
her in real-life. But she can even speak English! It's kinda cool
of how she become a Japanese singer. Sucha an interesting
story from her music background.

ayumi is actually one of the only japanese singers i deeply revere. im not much of a fan of the japanese female accent when i hear jpop, but ayumi's handwritten songs and refraining in putting english in her songs makes ayumi pretty great. reminds me of a game when i hear inspire.

hmmm, ya, her voice is like between average and very good in my opinion. i recommend crystal kay though. hmm, i should start a topic about her sometime.

i dont really listen to japanese music that much.. but i do like that song Do As Infinity has thats on Inyuasha..i think thats their name.. but i do like to listen to japanese music..even thou i dun understand it..same goes for indian songs..i love chutney

I love Utada's voice..Ayumi is alright. I guess I know more of Utada's though. I haven't heard much of Ayumi.

I like Utada a bit better than Ayumi~ Don't really like her voice.......too.....sqeaky. Some of Ayumi's MV's are weird...........I think there was this one where the whole clip was her washing the dishes or something........

I only understand a bit of what they say, but i like ayumi better. They are both great, utada sings lotsa anime stuff. I also think ayumi looks better (^.^)
