hi yall,
I just had basketball try outs about 2 weeks ago and then like 30 mins during the 1st day of try outs my left ankle was hurting! sad.gif but I still continued on that day and the other days of try outs. And I also made the team too happy.gif but my left ankle is really starting to annoy me. Ever since that 1st day of try outs it started to hurt but it only hurts when I have practice...like after the 15 mins or something it starts to hurt. And about an hour ago I just got back from practice and that is the first time that every time I walk it hurts wayyy more. but after like an hour it doesn't hurt or anything.. weird..

what do you think I should do? and did that ever happen to you? if it did..then wat did you do about it?

and what is also really weird to me is that I made the volleyball team too at the beginning of the year but my ankle wasn't in pain or anything. wink.gif

RICE. rest, ice, compress, elevate. we learned it in health class. if that doesn't help, see a doctor. even if you don't have time, your health is important.

I know what you're going through and the best thing to do is buy an ankle brace. It supports it and makes it feel better. I never went to the doctor for the reason being that I knew I wouldn't have to play for at least a week or 2. cry.gif Um.. also let your coach know that your ankle is hurting so that they'll see why you're not running faster or w/e the case may be. I hope you get better and I hope I helped! _smile.gif

Well good thing you're telling your coach because at first I didn't and she was pushing me like nutz pinch.gif because I tend to do a lot of fast breaks (I'm a fast runner) So she was pushing me and you know how it feels to run with your ankle hurting. cry.gif By the way, Is your season ending?

Maybe a fractured ankle? Cause a sprain hurts more than a fractured ankle... Unless you landed wrong and poped it

I think this should be moved to Sports...but yeah, just ask your coach about it. That's what they're there for too. Your coach won't get mad at you for it. S/he will probably sit out for a few days until it gets better.

go to the doctor.. it probably didnt hurt during volleyball bc u strained it during basketball tryouts i guess.. i had knee problems a lot since i was younger and i went to the doctor when it was really hurting me, most of the time they tell you wats wrong. if you dont have time to go to the doctor soon tell your parents to get an appointment as soon as possible!
