.... YOU'RE TOO ASIAN. GO BACK TO ASIA. JayKay. throb.gif

I am VERY Americanized. No one's ever told me that, but I mean it's true. The only language I'm fluent in is English. Isn't that sad? sweating.gif

Hrm. Well, i'm american-born. So how can I not be americanized, you know? But what really pisses me off is when I go back to taiwan, these stupid people speak behind my back in chinese and act like i don't hear a thing. they're like " omg i bet she doesn't know mandarin. she's so americanized" BLEH that pisses me off.

Seriously though.. I just remembered. My mom's friends ask me "Oh? You father no teach you Vietnamese yi Cantonese?"

And I reply in English: "No... My father didn't teach me... cry.gif "

My father was so focused on teaching me English that he didn't think it was important for me to learn Vietnamese.. well not speak it. Bleh pinch.gif He told my mother that since we're in America, I need to learn English. sad.gif

I HATE YOU, FATHER! mad.gif

they're just all jealous of our superiority...lol, jk. no, but seriously, wuts tha REAL definition of being americanized? americanized was obviously derived from american rite? well, an american is no set race....Americans r a mush pot of diff. races n cultures....so for them to say that ur americanized is pretty shallow of them.

Nopes, my dad says that to my brother. But my grandma's saying I'm not "asian enough" since most people who are chinese are right handed and I'm left handed and I don't want to learn to use my right hand. and other stuff... ._.'

No...I tell other people they're too "Americanized". I know a couple of people who are totally ashamed of their Asian background, and it's sad to see that. I'll tell them in a subtle way that they're very "Americanized".

No. Asians never say that to me at all. I don't have that much of an interest towards the US. I devote my intrest in culture towards Korean culture (I'm Chinese) and people don't really say how "too Asian" or "too American" I am.
