QUOTE(krispy_kreme333 @ Jan 7 2005, 9:28 AM) i completly agree!!! they cant ban white out on the basis that its harmful because everything is harmful and you cant excape it!!! and they cant ban it on graffiti (sp?) either because you can graffiti with almost anything so again they would have to ban alot of things just to stop people from graffiting or hurting themselves and also people can get high off of almost anything if you really wanted to or really tried, you could so they cant ban it for that reason either! personally i think the whole public school system is f**ked up! haha that's true.. but the only problem is that most school supplies are strongly essential like pencils and pens and rulers for writing and measuring. stuff like white-out is important sometimes.. only problem is that as some schools suggested, "it's a health hazard," and stuff like getting hit with pencils and pens are just injuries.. they dont affect your health, but stuff like white-out could possibly can if you sniff it too much.. So what I'm saying is that: if the whole school system is what u claim "F**ked up," thats an opinion.. but everything is harmful, one way or another. Pens and pencils and rulers can give you injuries but not effect your health, but stuff like white-out can. Schools are trying their best to have stuff in school banned/not allowed in school that affects childrens' health. |

Sure and let's ban scissors because kids can slit their wrists with them. And pencils, because they could stab each other in the eye.

Well, white-out is banned from our school.
But a lot of people use Sharpies and WhiteBoard markers (teachers, also), and they never said that thy can't use it... But white-out for us isn't really like, banned... they just don't like it, and tell u to put it away... but yeah, banning white out is like banning glue (can't u get high from sniffing glue?) |

I think it's fricking stupid to ban white out.
I went to go buy some at Wal-Mart the other day and they wouldn't let me. I was so pissed.. cause I really needed some. But anyway. ANYTHING can be dangerous. So what's the point of banning something like that when you can do something as dangerous with a pencil? ![]() |

my school has banned students, because all students do is write on desks, graffiti the bathrooms, get in fights, and smoke pot.

hello.well i just want to say that normaly, up to a few weeks ago iv been a very good kid.never got in truble, always did what i was told, got all As in school and i still do.but a few weeks ago, i got in a HUGE fight with my entire family and it was rough.wev been fighting a lot and it really bothers me. so for soem reason a few weeks ago, i was painting my nails and i started to sniff the nail polish and it smelled good for some reason.so i stpped painting them and i went and got my nail polish remover out and started to sniff that.ever since then iv ben sniffing BUT i never feel like im high or anything.i barely feel any different.my toes tingle a little nad once or twice my nose burned a lil but thats it.iv now tried sniffing sooo many things including white out and i tried the hardest with white out but i cant get high off it.i asked some ppl at my school and none of them can get high of white out either.i dont think it shuld be banned bcuz 1. it is useful on papers and stuff and 2. its soo hard to get high off it if its even possible so its stupid to ban it.
if anyone wnats to talk to me, heres some info: AIM S/N: AsHlEy26195 MSN: freshchickette@hotmail.com well im going to go do some hmwk.such fun ![]() |

^teachers in my school claim it can get you high.
it's stupid to ban it? hey, i havent replied in this thread for a while, but the big question out of this is: which is considered the most harmful in school? |

it can get you high, but the people who do huff know enough not to do it in school. you do it at home..
..and you asked us if it was right to ban white-out..not what's most harmful in school..so..that's what we're debating. don't change subjects. |

QUOTE well maybe if the stupid kids wouldn't give the deans reasons to ban things such as white out... friggin, as soon as research shows that a well hydrated student works more effectively, they ban all drinks at our school. because some stupid f**ks are dumb enough to bring alcohol. if we're tired of being treated like children, we need to grow the f**k up. That's really true. White-out is an effective tool for erasing mistakes that can't be erased with normal erasers. If you're drawing a poster, it's not very neat to scratch out something you wrote wrong. Nor is it if you're drawing a picture at school and you make a wrong line in pen. You don't scratch it out and mess your whole picture up; you can just use white-out. If it makes kids feel high, whoop-dee-doo! If anything, they should allow it so kids will sniff white-out instead of coccain. It probably doesn't really harm kids. If it did, white-out would've already been gone by now. And it's really our choice if we want to use white-out or not. If we want to sniff white-out at school, that's our choice! Teachers shouldn't prevent us from smelling an object because it makes us feel good (I actually haven't tried it so I'm just saying this from a logical standpoint). It's not banned in my school, if you were curious. |

No, it should not be banned. That's completely stupid. Take me for instance. I'm a really neat person and even a little scratch out annoys the shit out of me.
Plus, like x___duckii said. Almost all objects are dangerous. If they are going to ban white-out, they might as well ban every utensils that we can use for writing, eating, etc. etc. ---- If kids want to sniff it, that's their life. Not ours. |

Yes, almost all objects are dangerous, but the schools intentions r possibly trying to ban the objects that are most dangerous. |

what a load of crap.
like everyone else has said, if you want to start banning stuff b/c its harmful, you might as well ban clothes. i mean, if i really waned to i could take of my jeans and throttle the girl sitting next to me with them... or my shoe laces... and white out tape is annoying. it always breaks. or maybe im just retarded. what ever. white out should stay. i mean frankly, what percent of kids-getting-highness actually happens in class? i mean, if its banned from schools, kids are still gonna get high at home, i doubt it would even have a slight impact on the statistics |

white-out is not banned from my school. i dont believe it should be, either. When studnets use white-out in class, the teachers should be watchign their kids anyway, and if they see any jackass sniffing it, then they should just send him/her to the office. the kid gets suspended, gets an ass whoopin from their parents, and then the problem is solved. woopie.
Permanent black markers are banned from my school though. Last year we had a major issue with people writing on school property [ie: desks and bathroom stalls] so whenever they see someone with a permanent marker, they immediately snatch it and throw it in some filing cabinet with piles of markers in it. heh. |

There must be SOME medical studies that show white-out is harmful to your body. Let's think about it, it smells awful, like some horrid chemical. It smells like turpentine. People don't necessarily inhale the stuff to get high, but it's probably dangerous to our health if too much is inhaled. I'm just too lazy to google any of this.
Of course, this isnt' saying that white-out in small amounts is harmful. If a mere sniff of white-out could black someone out, don't you think that manufacturers would have be told to stop making these products, or modify them so they don't harm people? Obviously, white-out is unhazardous to a certain extent. Of course, anything that is taken in too large a dose will be harmful, so we just have to be careful around white-out, just like any other chemical in chemistry class, or painkillers. It's silly to ban it in school. |
