What the f**k, Nicki? This is horrible sad.gif first period twice? TWICE? this'll be horrible.

Oh. you know what's funny? Kristin told me that that form that we got last week were just teacher recommendations. So technically I still have a chance to get into IB. so maybe i don't have to take a period twice? bleh. confused.

no, you definitely have to take periods twice, but its not just one period. itll be like this: youll have an open period in the middle of the day which will be filled as

monday: 1st
tues: 2nd
wed: 3rd
thrus: 4th
fri: 5th
mon: 6
tues: 1st
etc

its good that theyre only recommendations! you dont want to be stucki in any cp classes

hmm that is odd but we're going to start doing our classes for next year soon i think, we haven't started just yet. i'm almost done picking my classes...there are a few undecided as of now.
for sure i'm taking:
english 12
info tech 12
ap calculus 12
yearbook 12
spare block
choir 12

my other three blocks are undecided. i'm going to take either:
social justice 12 or christian ed. 12 (i go to a catholic school.)
physics 12 or chemistry 12
and my last block is undecided but they may be introducing a media arts course next year...if it is offered thats what i'm taking.

QUOTE(tweeak @ Feb 16 2005, 6:21 PM)
yeah, its for the whole school, except that you dont have the option of the 7th class

we didnt have the ap option freshmen year, but gifted wasnt that bad
well, im bad at science, so i took honors and found it hard, but if i studied i may have been okay
i found geometry a lot easier than algebra
i have the pre ib world history class right now, except not technically pre ib, and its remarkably easy, you just have to do the work
youre lucky- ms parris is retiring so you wont have to put up with her for spanish

oh, but the gifted geometry teacher is typically nueman, who everyone loathes
*

ohh awsome. everyone was warning me about tkaing spanish =] whooo
so world history is easy? i was just talking to my brother...and he said mr.glin or someone said you like need to take world geography =/..like its important..but i just want to skip it...but like if i do world history freshman year, then i only have 2 more years of ss left...and ill get a free elective for my senior year, right? =]

ahh this hs stuff is confussinngggg

yay, i'm an IBer, also.
schedule for junior year:

IB Physix I (ew)
IB Math HL (ew)
IB History of the Americas
IB English I
IB French I
IB Social Anthropology (yay!)
Theory of Knowledge (woot!)

I LOVE YOU, SOCIAL SCIENCE.
you know, it's weird. i'm actually looking forward to the IB extended essay... it's giving me the opportunity to do in-depth research about something i'm actually interested in. i can definitely appreciate this attempt to spark intellectual curiosity. what are you planning to write yours on? i'm probably going to do something with sociology... maybe the effect of marxism on society?

yeah, parris was evil, but with her gone itll be fine. even if spanish is a horifically annoying language.
yeah, i had mr glenn for geography last year, and it was a complete waste of time, no matter how many ways he says its useful. i shouldve just done ib, but i was scared. it was dumb- rogers is so easy. the ideal is to take world history freshman year then only do diploma so you dont have to take any social studies senior year, like you said.

yeah, its completely ridiculous for everyone not in IB (pre-ib included in people it doesnt help)

im only doing certificate, so i dont have to worry about the extended essay. im worried about that thing where i have to talk for 15 minutes though. and even if i did have to do the essay, i still wouldnt have a clue what id be writing it about now

i think so. like the teacher can go on about a short poem for 45 minutes or so, and then youll have so long to prepare to talk for 15 minutes. i dont know all that much about it, but im dreading it. everything oral always goes badly for me

Yeah, I guess it's basically an international honor program however it requires more work and prerequisites to graduate than most programs such as community service, extended essay, theory of knowledge, etc.

oh and two of you above were talking about IB orals; on March 3rd I have my first IB oral for SPANISH >< eek

1.5? We have 1, 2, and 3 at my school..
It's basically Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2.
