I think people are really poor when they start looking for money for ordinary things, like groceries, toothpaste, etc. if you're worried about what you're going to eat tonight, that's a problem. everybody has their own interpretation, though. i think i'm in the middle-lower class, b/c i have to watch how much i use for lunch money, and thats a problem: also i dont really get gifts and stuff, cuz my parents cant afford it.

i don't think im poor...more like upper-middle class. I get everything i want, but i don't ask for much. We have money for whatever we need. Mostly my parents save up for college. so yeah.

My family appears rich on the outside, we have many good things 3 houses, nice things, food, clothes. But really my parents are telling me to save more because it's hard working for things we would like. I may not look like i'm spoiled but i think i am, whatever i want, my parents sometimes give in and give me it.

I used to be filthy rich when I was younger...

We had a big, gated house, guard dogs, maids, chauffuers, designer clothing (well, I myself didn`t have much of those because I was 1-6 years old at the time), and cars (including a limo).
At one point, I even lived in a hotel suite.


Eh, I guess that is why I grew up to be so materialistic and spoiled.

Right now, I`d have to say my family is doing okay. We own three houses, there is no problem paying the bills, my parents have a stable job, and I get to receive most of the things that I want.

I don't always get what I want to have.
My parents are divorced right now.
My mom is a waitress at a Korean restaurant
and taking of her 2 daughters including me.
We have a car which I'm glad that we do have one.
Well my dad is kind of rich.
But I don't always ask a lot of stuff from him.
Because I know that, that my dad is working very
hard at his work. I'll just wait until he gives me
moneys again. My dad lives in Utah by the way.

To me, poor is when you're having trouble getting by without the needs for living, aka shelter, water, food, clothing.

But I guess the middle class of people are starting to be considered poor..
Because more and more people are now able to buy more expensive things.

My friends think im rich although i dont have the same opinion. it only looks that way just kus of the big house.

same here. it used to be holy shit, you must have millions of dollars, you live in a country club, well, yea we got that house for cheap And now people think im rich because i wear hollister... And omg you have a summer house? Umm yea, its probably only worth 200,000 dollars though, the bottom level has mold everywere. Its reallll fancy and expensive

my family is not rich-rich. i think i live in an ugly house, but it's pretty decent. all my friends at school thinks im some kind of rich-freak because i get all i want. it's not my fault my parents give me fifty dollars each month. people probably even get more. x.x" its not MY fault that i saved my birthday money, christmas money, and new years money. x.x" you see.. i don't like to spend. so when my friends ask me how much i have, they get all weird and stuff.. because they spent all their money and now they probably have one five cents or something.. those.. spending-freaks lol~ but i love them =x

anyways, i think you're not poor. you are in the middle. your family just shouldn't try too hard... t.t' because working too much is bad for you, ya'know? get some rest. =x tell your parents to take a rest for at least ONE day.. x.x its better than working EVERY SINGLE DAY, overtimedd and twice or something =x

My fam works hard.
We got some descent things.  Tv, computers, etc.

On the outside, we look rich, but in reality, my father works two jobs, my mom works over time all the time, i work 10-12 hours a day.

I think we are poor.  We pay all our bills by the minimum, and money gets tight at times.
How is ur family status?

Same here! I look like I be "geared" up all the time with a fresh pair of shoes every month and new clothes every week. We have a nice big tv, a nice comp. and all them other goodd xtras. But we work REALLY hard for them. I wont consider myself poor. We too pay bills by the minimum. But we're not poor. At least we WORK for our shit. Some ppl are spoiled & get everything from their Daddy or Mommy lol. I think you can feel more proud of yourself if you earn things.

Poor... well sometimes it's not about money.

I rarely get what I want... But I mean I guess I can ask my mother for money when I need it. Money is tight for me personally, only because I hate to ask my parents for money. I try to use whatever I have, rather than saving it and asking my parents. My dad does work, though. We sort of have a decent house.. It's a house, at least. Sometimes money is tight.. :/ But I know some people who are worse off than me. But then again, I also don't have a job.. I will soon though.

My family has debt. i live in a trailer, I Have a crappy car. Everyone else things we're poor, but I think long as we can survive we arne't poor. I mean, i have everyting I "need" to survive, and so does everyone else in my family. So, to others I may be poor, but my deff of poor is not being able to afford food. and my family can, most of the time.

my dad is lucky enough to have a job, my mom stays at home to take care of my sister and me.
cons: uhhh..let's see, we use coupons for everything, we go to Ross to buy clothes, we buy/sell stuff off ebay for that extra money, i don't have a college tuition/allowance and i have to work for other people to buy my own clothes and stuff
pro: my dad has a job, i have a two story house, i have food, i have shelter

My family is poor. My parents used to half own the house with my uncle. But since we need the money, we sold our half to them. Now my parents pay $800 dollars each month or year (not sure) for the rooms and the bathrooms we use. It's effed up because we're family. We could split the bills but noooooo they want money.

My friends think I'm rich or something because of my house. My house is big, I guess, but my family is barely making it through. One day we're gonna get kicked out of the house because my aunt's mom and sisters are coming over from Vietnam. My parents are looking for a house or a townhouse. But even if we buy one, we probably won't be able to pay the bills and everything.
