div and modules, How to make separate divs Options

I browsed for this topic before i post, but couldn't find- so hope it's not redundant.
But basically, I know how to use a div layer and position my xanga blog- but it moves the whole xanga. My module is too close to my xanga- i tried using cell spacing but it doesn't work. So i want to use separate div layer- one for left module, one for xanga. Is that possible?

If i use this code, it positions whole blog.
