Scrollbox for an individual entry ONLY Options

I'm having trouble with scrollbars. Finding them, was a hard task. Then figuring out how to use them was another. I found even a whole xanga with scrollbars (www.xanga.com/scrollbars), & i tried at least 10. Am I doing something wrong? I've been putting the text that I wanted to appear inside the box after the code. This might have been my mistake, is what I'm thinking. But, I don't know where I'm supposed to put it.
So what I need is:
* a small scrollbox that works for an individual entry,
* instructions on how to use it (where to put text/html, etc)

any bit of guidance would be GREATLY appreciated.
