My website: suggestions? Options

This is my website, the layout I did not create. Should I change anything about it, content or the alike? I got a few people telling me the layout is too dark, so that will be one thing I'll change on it for sure.

Also, I will be buying a domain, so the freewebs banners won't be on the pages.
