DIV PADDING/POSITIONING, diff. for every resolution!! how to fix? Options

well i've got the whole image map and stuff working on my xanga, but when i tried positioning it with the div code, it turned out fine on my computer, then after that, i found out that it was different for everybody else's resolutions. my resolution by the way is 1024 by 768. anyway, i've tried many different div codes too. the only two objects i need to get positioned is my blog body and my links.

and another thing, when i previewed these codes, they looked fine on the preview, but once i saved and looked at it, the blog body went totally unaligned again. i'm pretty sure if someone can give me the correct code for the blog body, i could use that code to make my image with links on it align as well. please help!!!
