OMG! My dad is so OVERPROTECTIVE! What should I do?? At this rate I'll NEVER get a boyfriend
 ! I have a friend, who I've known forever, recently he told me that he liked me, I like him too, but my dad doesn't like his family. And plus I'm kinda not allowed to speak, see or even IM him. Bummer, I know. When I was little my dad used to make me ALWAYS Recite "No boyfriends forever and ever" I always thought it was a joke, until he began to take it seriously, it's soooo effin embarrassing!  I wanna be all "Get off my back" to him becuse he ALWAYS has to remind me that his family isn't as high up in the socials. My mom thinks he's cute and well-mannered, from all the times he was at my house. (while my dad was away) What should I do?

how old are you? just wondering because a lot of girls that post topics about dating are really young and shouldn't be preoccupied with dating in the first place. anyways, show your dad that you are mature enough to handle dating someone. sit down with him and talk to him and tell him your reasons for liking this guy and make sure your mom is there so she can back you up about him being well mannered. going around and being sneaky and dating him isn't going to make your dad get any warmer to the whole dating idea.
