This isn't very good...it was quickly written during school.

The Pieces
By: Savannah Harrison

I'm sending you what's left,
Of a heart that's been ripped out.
So fail to be surprised,
When you find my million bloody shreds...
Outside of your front door.

The pieces, alone, are not worth much,
But perhaps you can glue them back together.
And force the monstrous thing,
Into the wound from which, so benumbingly...
It was torn.

And if you chance to see,
The letter that I wrote.
My name signed in crimson ink,
The goodbye that forever says...
I loved you till I broke.

A painful process, that it was,
To reach inside my chest.
To rip out the dying instrument,
In which I once found a way...
To love you with.

The stares that people cast upon me,
As I walked towards your home.
A gaping hole below my breast,
And hands that hold a bleeding box...
That means nothing to anyone.

And if you chance to see,
The letter that I wrote.
My name signed in crimson ink,
The goodbye that forever says...
I loved you till I broke.

Perhaps you can muster,
The courage to write me back a note.
With a needle pinning to the parchment,
Another heart in which you have destroyed...
Though it is not your own.

In the end, like always,
Love is a blade in which you wield.
But if I live without a heart,
How can the pain ever be mine to feel...
I loved you till I broke.
