netscape 4.8 Options

I'm in a webdesign class at school, and we work on my school's website. My teacher is a nice lady and means well, but she doesn't know a whole lot about html or css. Let's just say she knows how to use Dreamweaver. I grew up on html and HATE Dreamweaver with a passion. That's a whole different topic.

Anyway, I did a google search and from http://www.com.msu.edu/aa/apinfo/newsclips/netscape.shtml I found out some things that Netscape 4.8 doesn't accept:

The following is a summary of problems users may encounter when running Netscape 4.8 and previous versions.
* Text formatting and style: Netscape 4.78 does not handle the style formatting system the AP site uses. This usually results in text reverting to your browser-specific fonts and styles and can produce strange alignment and layout problems, especially when printing pages for hard copies.
* Macromedia Shockwave/Flash Animations: Netscape 4.78 may or may not properly load the plug-in for Shockwave animations. This is critical for the PCAC home page menu system. Downloading the Flash Plugin from macromedia.com may alleviate this problem.
* JavaScript Issues: Many of the AP website pages have applications written in JavaScript. While we have encoutered no problems as of yet with these applications, the version of JavaScript handled by Netscape 4.78 is earlier to the version used on the AP pages. How many people today use Netscape 4.8? I honestly don't know, but that baby's old. I think most people use IE and newer versions of Netscape... ones that accept CSS. Besides what's listed, does anyone else know what the old Netscape isn't compatible with? I would like to know so I can make sure it's not used for my school's website.
