due to my earlier knowledge, the term "chink" was supposed to be a disrespectful way of calling chinese people. but somehow it became an usual word that some chinese kids call themselves today. i don't see a lot of koreans going around calling themselve "gook, or hispanic people calling themselve "spic". black people also get offended when u use the word "nigger" in front of them. i don't understand y would people use a racial slur to describe their own nationality.

I would NEVER call a chinese homosapien a chink. I have MANY friends who are chinese, and I think they'd find it offensive.
I think I first heard the term from my dad..I was using chopsticks and he said," Why the hell are you eating your meat with the chinky pick up sticks?" Gosh, I was so mad. |
