Would it be okay to give a guy something anonymously like... i dunno... a rose? Or would it be plain stupid?

i think it's only cute if you know each other and are friends or at least acquainted because otherwise, it would be really odd...if i was a guy i'd feel a little awkward if some girl i didn't know gave me a rose...
