a fourth grade writing prompt, rewritten.
my best friend? never talks back, except when i do, shouts and screams and cries when i do, when i want to my best friend tells all of my deepest secrets but only to a spiral bound journal, where nobody else knows. my best friend is artificial material replaced often and worn with abuse. my best friend? is mechanical, with point five lead. silver, with a black rubber grip, and the eraser comes out when you twist the top. |
