AnandTech's Article

On a certain type of DFI Lanparty motherboards with the nForce4 Ultra chipset, it's possible to modify the board (easily, i might add) to make it essentially an SLI board, and for much cheaper too. It makes for near-SLI performance for a fraction of the price. Great for budget powergamers who want SLI but don't have the money for it.

There are video cards that have two chips on one board. So it's like SLI.

ah, that's the gigabyte 3D1. it's nice, but getting a regular 6800GT has the same performance, with upgradeable headroom (you can add ANOTHER 6800GT later on in the future while you can't with the 3D1).
