Utada Hikaru is a Japanes singer and she is really great. Even tho I don't know what she is saying. So is Boa. I love Utada's "Sakura Drops" and "Simple and Clean". And Boa's "Every heart" and "Amazinf Kiss".

I like Utada Hikaru even though her debut album in america didn't sell that well.. but I love her song especially First Love who doesn't. I bought her album Deep River it's really good, seems like her recent songs aren't that good as it was before. Well looking foward for her new JAPANESE album, always supporting Utada she rocks & she's talented.
There's also Mika Nakashima, she's young and pretty. I love her voice, it's deep, it's sexy. That's my opinion haha, I like deep girls voice just like Christina Aguilera hehe my idol. As for the other, Solewu and Nami Tamaki they are cool I don't know everything about Japanese music industry as the Korean one but it sounds pretty good. It's mostly Techno mix the other kind I like it, it's very different from what we use to hear, my opinion. I know there are some songs that sounds alike, but you can't always make something completely different you gotta take a little there and there and mix it together. Oh well enough talking :) I'm support the asian music indutry for sure, either it's Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Khmer, Filipino. =D |

QUOTE(Hiiatus @ Jan 15 2005, 8:59 PM) I like Utada Hikaru even though her debut album in america didn't sell that well.. but I love her song especially First Love who doesn't. I bought her album Deep River it's really good, seems like her recent songs aren't that good as it was before. Well looking foward for her new JAPANESE album, always supporting Utada she rocks & she's talented. yepp.. utada always comes out with a hit everytime her song comes up. Yeah... her debut in America didn't do very well b/c of the following possiblities - too ASIANY (im asian, no offense, but that might be a possiblity) - no live shows to promote it - not enough cd's of her debut in her stores. sadly... those are good possiblities, but i give her debut album a 9/10. Oh ya... here's a bunch of jpop suggestions you should listen to in case you're new to jpop. Ayumi Hamasaki - great songwriter. writes her own lyrics. sold about 6 albums. very interesting fact: ayumi hamasaki NEVER adds english words in her songs. suggested songs: Butterfly (also part of DDR), Moments, Evolution, Inspire. (i dont really know much about her singing, but she's definintely a great jpop legend) Utada Hikaru - great singer. many people don't know that she sung the theme song for Kingdom of Hearts. She sung "Simple And Clean" and around 2001, it was part of the kingdom of hearts soundtrack. Her English is a lot better than many other Japanese singers. suggested songs: First Love (definitely this song, because it's like her number 1 song and it made number 1 on japan's oricon charts and was the top selling sngle from her), Addicted to You, Automatic, Devil's Inside (many club remixes, also, this song is in english), Exodus 04', The Workout (if u like cracking up), Animato, Kremlin Dusk, About Me, Easy Breezy (it's not that good, but i suggest it). I suggest you listen to Utada's American debut album Exodus. You'll see why. Crystal Kay - her diversity attracts a lot. She's part African-American and part Korean. Her English is also better than most singers in Asia (entirely), because of her strong Africian-American accent. Her singing is great and just hearing her R&B tunes will make you wanna' listen to it more. suggested songs (note, she sings in japanese): Boyfriend Part I, Boyfriend Part II (definitely recommend you to LISTEN TO THAT SONG first, because it's her number one hit), M-Flo loves Crystal Kay - Rewinnd, M-FLo loves Crystal Kay - I Like It, Motherland, Think Of U, Ex-Boyfriend, Girl's Night BoA - she's korean, yet she dominates most of ASIAN POP. Why? She sings in 4 languages. Sings in Korean, Japanese, English, and soon in Chinese (Mandarin). HEr Korean and Japanese are great, but her English and Chinese isn't that great. Other than that, in my list, she's the number one singer in the world. suggested songs (i wont suggest any english songs from BoA) Merri Chri (merry christmas), Konoyono Shirushi (a token to this world), Quincy, Rock With You, Midnight Parade, Double, Double (English Version), Every Heart (also known for as the theme song for Inyuasha for those who didn't know), No. 1 (the complete No. 1 album (its in korean) ), Listen To My Heart, Song With No Name, Valenti, Kiseki (SOUL'D out remix), M-Flo Loves BoA - The Love Bug. from BoA's slow songs, i really suggse these slow songs: My Prayer, Good Bye, Stay In Love that's a lot of words out there. those r good suggestions. I recommend you listen to either BoA or Ayumi Hamasaki first, because they're great singers. |
