this has just been gnawing on my mind for a couple days.
a few days ago, i passed by a couple of people talking about how much they LOVED green day... however, when i asked if they knew about green day before their American Idiot song, they all said no. Most didnt even know that they had been around for many years before... so, as a question to all Green Day fans, especially those who LOVE green day, how many of u knew/cared for the band 5 years ago? how many actually listened to dookie? not meant as an insult to anyone |

I know exactly what you mean. A lot of people are so crazy about them now just because 'American Idiot'. People are like, "Omg I <3 Green Day!!" and I'm talkin about those 12 years olds
 I mean, that's cool if you're a fan but don't claim that you are a die hard fan. I have been listening to em since....let's see, when "Hitchin a ride" came out which is on Nimrod & came out in..1997. So that's 8 years. I was hooked when I saw that video. Anyways, yeah. Those people annoy the pootie outta me.
