but if hip-hop is a culture, which im aware of, why do people inisist that hip-hop and rap as music are different?

Well, you could define rap as a verse in a song. In that case, the two would be different, since the rap is found in a hip-hop song. In any case, maybe it comes from being exposed to the culture, but I know when I'm listening to hip-hop and when I'm listening to rap. |
