Has anyone ever heard of or seen Wicked? It's about the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch Glinda from 'Wizard of Oz' you know, before Dorothy came along. I read the book by Gregory Maguire from which the musical is based on and I absolutely LOVE it! I really want to go see the musical version, though I hear it's loosely based on the book.
Maguire names the Wicked Witch "Elphaba" after the initials of the original author of 'Wizard of Oz', L. Frank Baum. LFB translates to Elphaba .. somehow. (: I thought that was interesting. Anyways, it's a really good book and you guys should look into it! Elphaba is featured on my avatar, by the way. If you're interested in songs from the musical, I suggest downloading 'Defying Gravity'. It's my favorite song. (: |

The musical was friggin awesome!!! Idina Menzel is just amazing. It's a shame that she's no longer in it
 But as for if you should see it...Wicked the Musical is awesome if you haven't read the book (which I haven't). Most people who've read the book and then see the musical are a bit dissappointed. They come out either hating or loving it. |
