okay I wasn't really sure where to put this topic so i Chose the lounge...
Well, today I went to the MLK center in Atlanta to listen to people who have been fighting for civil rights in America and also in other countries like Guatmala (sp?) and Burma(sp?). Well my friend Paige and I are really into the whole idea of a better world. Some say we might end up helping the world in a big way, right now thats only a dream for me, but anyways two panelist talked about how even being in America, they were tortured, raped, beaten, or inslaved (and yes there is modern day slavery). So after getting off the bus we (meaning me and Paige) went to go talk to one of the world history teachers, who is really striaght forward, and we had a disscussion about our saftey, and I was just thinking, are, were or have anyone of you ever felt unsafe in the U.S.? oh and sorry for my mispellings, hope there wasn't a trouble reading what i typed... |
