Acne Options

Okay, so here's the problem. For the past .. 4 months I've been some - what battling acne. I started using Pro-Activ and it worked. Took away some of the dark spots I had. I still had little acne on the chin, so my doctor perscribed something stronger, which I'm using now.

I have a tendency to pick pimples, so of course I picked the one I had and now there's a mark, like I fell and hurt myself or something. I want it to go away, I know it's not going to happen over night.. But what would help in getting rid of it?

I also have acne on my back Any suggestions?

oh man i know the pain of that. Well lemme tell yah now that STRIDEX is sooo bad for your skin. It strips away the natural oils (the good oils WITH the bad oils) and your skin is like "omg there is no oil on my face i gotta replenish!" and then your skin gets really oily which causes pimples, even more...and then plus the dirt, and stuff that gets on your face everyday. but some pimples you can't help becuase ur hormones are changing. but yah get off stridex. Clean and clear isn't bad, but you gotta figure out what kinda skin type you have. like oily, dry, mixed between the two? and get the stuff that best suits that type of skin. My skin is oily on my forehead, nose, and chin...but dry on my cheeks...so i use this cleanser and moisturizer that balances the two out...it works soo well...it's from the brand ORIGINS. and you can usually find it at like nordstroms our hechts, but it's a organic brand so some stores might not have it. if not that, then...Clinique works pretty good, also available at most stores like nordstroms and sears. but if you want the stuff from giant..then get clean & clear...phew, lol look i wrote a frickin book

I'd strongly recommend ORIGINS. It's kinda expensive, but it does wonders. Get the Daily Face Wash and Night-A-Mins. I suffered a lot from acne when I was a teenager... people used to ask me if it hurt.. It's important to realize that drying out your skin is not the best way to treat acne. Having an oily skin DOES NOT MEAN that your face has a lot of moisture. Most of the treatments available over the counter tries to dry your face, but that's only going to aggrivate your skin even more. Acne is directly related to your pores. It occures when you pores are occluded, which blocks the oils and sweats from excreting out. This will cause the "redness" as things build up inside. So keeping your pores clean are a must.

Wash your face daily in the morning and before bed. Always moisturize your face with non-clogging lotions. Dry face can cause more harm than oily skin, so use moisturizers daily. Use the Night-A-Mins at night before you go to bed. The Night-A-Mins will help to recover the damages done during the day while you sleep. It does wonders. (BTW, don't ever use those strips that grabs the black heads and stuff.. that's only going to enlarge your pores, which looks bad)

You just need to find what works for you. Things like Acutane and Retine A stuff is pretty strong and can have side effects. Don't spend too much money on dermotologist because I've been there and done stuff which only cost too much money. Keeping a clean and moist skin is probably the best solution for acne problems. Some can be related to stress, so make sure you're stress level stays low.

If you do pick on your acne and it starts to bleed, make sure you can this white colored particle out of the pore. That particle is the oils and sweats that condensed into solid stuff. Then stop the bleeding and apply Neosporin for one week. This should reduce any scarring.
