(The website where it shows info/products, etc for my computer was no help and i currently have lost my computer manual. Do i really need it? Someone said i should, but i'm not sure mellow.gif )

What kind of processor do you have? Using information like that, you can determine what speed of ram is suitable for your computer. I'd guess that your computer probably uses either pc2100 or pc2700 ddrram, just as an arbitrary value. If your compuer already has faster ram and you install slower ram then it will run at the slower speed which is something you don't want. Also you might want to clear out some of the clutter on your system to improve performance that way you can see whether you really need the upgrade or not. If it's slow boot speed that you have then you can do this:

Start->Run->type in "msconfig" without the quotations->Then click startup and uncheck whatever you don't want there.
