i've always wondered, HOW do you ask someone out. do you just go up to them ask say "hey, want to go out with me?" doesn't that seem a little awkward?

They way I do it takes three easy steps
Me: What would you say if I were to ask you out? Her: Umm yes? Me: Alright cool were going out. actualy Ive never done that, I should try
