This year, Time Magazine has chosen President Bush as "Person of the Year."
Do you feel he deserves that title? Why or why not? Their articles about him pose an excellent argument, but I still would like to hear your opinions. I personally am appalled, but that's just me. Sorry about the big mess-up on the name. it was supposed to be president, not 'persident.' Dang, I've edited this post 4 times in a row! |

Bush is a fine president. Of course he's not perfect, have we EVER had a perfect president? just because you're president doesnt mean you are suddenly ... perfect! You seem to be forgetting that half of AMERICA voted for Bush...he's not a dictator.
And about the war.... Iraq is a way better place than it was before (At least 182,000 Kurds in Iraq were murdered or are missing and presumed dead. Authorities on Iraq estimate that 1.3 million people have died as a direct result of Saddam Hussein’s acts of terror since 1979, the year he bullied his way into office.) You'll also find that most of our troops are not sitting in Iraq grousing....they need us to support them, not diss the cause they're giving their lives for. |

You'll also find that most of our troops are not sitting in Iraq grousing....they need us to support them, not diss the cause they're giving their lives for. Half of America, no no no! Half of Americans in this country dont even vote. In fact if I remember correctly the polls taken of people who dont vote supported Kerry about 60-40 just because of the extreme dislike of Bush. As for soldiers giving their lives. Giving their lives for what? To abuse innocent Iraqis in a prison? To kill innocent people in the streets in front of their children? I dont need to hear "oh those are just a couple bad people." Guess what the few overshadow the majority. I dont even blame the soldiers for that. What was Bush's response to that? He found out the same time we did. That is how much he is respected by his cabinet. I seriously think that when people think Bush is making a joke about weapons of mass destruction hes really being serious. The Russians had the same exact thing happen when they went to Afghanistan. Everybody though oh look the USSR made Afghanistan so much better, the fact of the matter was the Russians were losing 4-5 men a week up in the mountains. More during planned attacks, suicide bombers, car bombs, and etc. That war lasted about 10 years. Do the math who really won? To me Iraq and America is almost identical to Afghanistan and the Soviets. Edit: Sorry if I sounded like a tightwad, didnt mean to ![]() |
