There're a ton of nationalities in our school. Black, white, hispanic, South Asians, East/Southeast Asians, Europeans (I mean, really European..we had a foreign exchange student from Switzerland, it was awesome).
Everyone has their own group...so like, although we might be a minority statistically...we don't feel like one, because we know there're a lot of other people like us. I mean, I'm Indian...and although there were maybe seven or eight other indians in my middle school, my high school has a TON. A lot of Asians, too... I don't think there's a lot of racisim in my high school. People either get along with each other, or just ignore each other. It's stupid...but it's embedded into society...even if you don't see it in your school, it's happening somewhere in your society. The whole "I'm better than you" thing...can't be avoided, really. |
