See for my own safety, i never really open the door to anyone when i am home alone. But when my mom is here, she open the door to any knock, and as a result, we get a bunch of commercial people asking us to donate and stuff. i mean, we are both nice people, and my mother's continuation of failing to not open the door to strangers leads us to a lot of "moral obligations". I mean, i am really tired of people trying to get us to donate when i myself is poor and need people to donate ME some money so i can get myself some cozy christmas presents. when people are on the phone or at the door telling my mom to donate, she calls me over and try to clean up the mess she is in. You would think that i can just shut the door or hang up the phone in these people's faces, but it's pretty hard. How do you deal with these telemarketers and strangers who asks you for donation to african/tsunami/flood/avalanche/cancer/leukemia sufferers?

I just go "Sorry, I'm extremely busy right now. My little sister just pooped all over the floor." They usually go away. If they don't, I just go "Sorry, gotta run." and close the door.

you dont nessesarily have to hang up on a telemarketer. have some fun with him/her. ask him/her how he got the job of telemarketing, if he/she likes it when people hang up on them all day, how thier sex life is going, like really odd, personal, or uncomfortable questions (how long is your d**k?). its so much fun!
