I'm not in guard; I'm a flutist in marching and concert band. But I think colorguard is awesome!
I didn't vote because...well, if 'no' supports the band, then I'd have to say that. But otherwise, guard is really cool. Ours isn't too bad; it looks hard (coordination, at least), but the result always looks awesome. I don't know, but I love what the colorguard does for the band. In our 'Middler' (it's actually a piece from 'Aerodynamics', but it's our second piece in our show), the guard does a fantastic routine...it compliments all the dynamics and entrances in the piece. I love it. hehe, yeah...I'm a total band nerd. I live for the practices at 7am every morning, and the games on Thursdays, and the contests.... Tweeak, I love your siggy! "What's the football team doing on the marching field??" We practice on a parking lot. It works well enough; it's the same size, and all. Our school has its own stadium nearby, so we have a few stadium practices. On game days, we practice on the football fields...we don't do that everyday just because it's easier to practice on concrete and get all the sets right. Our band has gotten straight ones for...I dunno how many years...so I guess it all works. Kayla--it IS all about the band!! ![]() Tweeak, what instrument do you play? |
