Three simple questions:
Question 1: Do you believe that it is likely that the universe was created by an advanced (omnipotent?) being? Question 2: If you answered "yes" to Question 1, do you believe that it is likely that said advanced being was created by an even more advanced being? Questions 3: If you answered "no" to Question 2, why are your answers to Questions 1 and 2 different? |

QUOTE(TreesTurnMeOn @ Dec 27 2004, 1:21 PM) Let me ask YOU this. If God had a creator, then who would have created his creator? And who would have created him? And who him? So on and so forth. Like darkphyre said, this doesn't really help your point as it was his/her intent for you to question the absolute power of your God in the first place. QUOTE Not everything has to have an explanation. We all have to believe in something, now don't we? Not everything needs explanation for its existence, but for something that someone believes so much in... shouldn't there be an explanation as to why it has the power to draw your faith, your loyalty? And shouldn't that explanation be in full instead of so unclear? After all, absolute power is clear and understood, why shouldn't the explanation as to HOW or WHY that power has acquired is clear. Darkphyre, I believe in a Creator, a God, if you will. My logic for it is simple: we are creations, therefore we have a Creator. Perhaps, there are several Creators? I'm opened to suggestions on that one as there are possibilities to almost everything in life and, perhaps if it exists, the beyond. Do you find fault in such logic? I'm interested in your critique. |
