Three simple questions:
Question 1: Do you believe that it is likely that the universe was created by an advanced (omnipotent?) being? Question 2: If you answered "yes" to Question 1, do you believe that it is likely that said advanced being was created by an even more advanced being? Questions 3: If you answered "no" to Question 2, why are your answers to Questions 1 and 2 different? |

the universe it so interesting and so... amazing just to learn about it.
it's amazing how we have other universes we've never seen and maybe living creatures that we call "aliens" =] I want to know so much more about this, but in science, we learned all that we can. P.S. QUOTE My question to you, then, is why do you see it as necessary that the universe have a creator, but not that God has a creator. To simplify, many people argue that God must exist because something must have created the universe, and this suggests the existence of a god-like being. However, if we require that everything (ie. the universe) have a creator, then why do we discard the logical conclusion that God must also have a creator? To simplify even more: 1) Everything must have a cause. 2) God is likely the cuase of the universe. 3) God must have been created by something. If 1) is true, 2) is likely true. However, if 1) and 2) are both true, than 3) must also be true. If 1) is false, then 2) and 3) are likely false. Thus, the most likely situations, logically, are: 1) God exists and has a creator, or 2) God doesn't exist. If God exsists, yes he does have a creator. But then, who created the mighty God? And then who created the person who created God? And so on.. |
