Today Valve disabled more than 30,000 Steam accounts which had been used to try to illegally gain access to Valve games without a valid purchase.

Valve takes such activities seriously and reserves the right to disable Steam accounts engaging in piracy, cheating, illegal activities, or any other activity in violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement. The accounts that are disabled today will not be reactivated.

Thats 50,000 accounts total....

yeah but u can just type in random numbers, and end up with a cd key..... thats what we do at school for LAN games... we just type random crap and it works.... so how r they gonna stop that >_< lol

that is old school cd key protection. Now companies like Valve are creating systems like Steam that force you to connect to the internet and interface to a Valve server to launch the game. No cdkey=game won't launch, wrong cdkey=your acct is banned and your game is useless.
