Do you think the missile network is worth it, and will actually prevent a missile from reaching America?
I recently talked with my friend about it, and he said it's not worth it. It'll cost billions of dollars just so the defense industry can still be in business. I heard that the network will consist of interceptor missiles, those 747's with lasers at the nose, and satellite lasers (not sure bout that one). Problem is the satellite lasers are too weak, and the 747s need to be at the right place at the right time. And the interceptors need to make contact with the attacking missile before it reenters Earth's atmosphere, or the ICBM will split apart into hundreds of little nukes that can't be stopped. To add into the time limit, the interceptors must have the perfect calculations on when to launch, in what direction, etc in order to make a perfect hit on the ICBM's nose. So the ICBM is moving at hundreds of mph, and the Interceptor will be too, and they must hit each other in mid air. Kinda cutting it close don't you think? |
