I was just browsing through Peta 2 and I found this video on factory farms...before, I was completely clueless to where my meat came from...ignorant, I know...
Ever since I saw this, I went vegetarian. I know I might sound like a silly little girl who'll give up vegetarianism after a week or two, but I really felt bad for what went on in these farms and I hope that I can keep up vegetarianism... Are any of you in here vegetarian or vegan? Please take a look at this depressing clip...please consider it... The Cruelty of Animal Farms It may take a while to load on older computers, but it's worth it, in my opinion... |

QUOTE(ApocalypseAelis @ Dec 20 2004, 4:47 PM) The quote "Lots of wonderful foxes, raccoons, and other animals are kept by mean farmers who squish them into cages so small that they can hardly move. They never get to play or swim or have fun. All they can do is cry-just so your greedy mommy can have that fur coat to show off in when she walks the streets." is completely true. How is that bullshit? It's a way to get the kids to "take action", in a way. The reason PETA gave out the leaflets is to influence the little kids to try and get their parents to stop wearing fur coats, which explains the picture. Again, you exaggerate and go overboard, just like you say PETA does. (Should this go into the debate board?) what are little kids going to do besides whine and cry? are they going to take action? i'm not saying that kids aren't capable but is scareing them and making them hate their mom isn't the right way to educate them, fur is not something i would want (real or faux, it's just plan ugly) but i have nothing against these "greedy" people who wear it. because it says nothing about them and who they are. if they like it, real or not, fine. i don't care. it's not effecting me. do people what eat meat support the killing of animals? they do other scare/shock tactics.( http://www.consumerfreedom.com/news_detail.cfm/headline/2537 ) to teach people not to eat meat, that milk is unheathly, whatever. but scareing people isn't teh way to change a mind, but to tell people the facts instead of what you want people to think. QUOTE Again, you exaggerate and go overboard, just like you say PETA does. how so? (i think this goes in the debate forum) |
