hiccups, how 2 get rid of them?? Options

can u guys help me out here i have the hiccups and they wont go away.......do u no of any ways 2 get rid of them??

I'm going to tell you a little story about the weirdest and most extreme way of removing hiccups ever. It was recorded in a book.

Once upon a time there was a man. This man was known to get drunk all the time. Drinking was his passion. He drank many times each week. One day, as he climbed drunkenly into bed, he realized he had the hiccups.
"I know...muhh...uhh...I'll scare my hiccups away!" he said happily.
Reaching for his lighter, he proceeded to light his nightshirt on fire.

His frantic screams and yells were heard by other tenants in his house, and as he hopped and danced around with his nightshirt on fire, they helped him take it off.
He was unharmed other than a few minor burns and scratches.

As the tenants left in disgust, he fell back down exhaustedly.

But right before he fell asleep, he exclaimed,
"By God-the hiccup's gone!"


But if you don't want to light your shirt on fire, I advise throwing sugar in the back of your throat then drinking water. If I remember correctly, the grainy sugar affects something in the back of your throat and triggers it to stop the hiccups...it's the most effective way to stop your hiccup. In fact, any small grains thrown in the back of the throat will work. Salt, sand, ground gravel...I advise sugar, though.
