DS or PSP Options

hi! the DS is so cool! i want to get that one... but i also want to get the PSP! They got awesome games on them!

It's a handheld, I'm not gonna sit on my ass for anywhere near 2 hours(well, movie maybe). Battery changing no prob. Like I said, I view this like my other baby(digi cam). You know how much I use that thing.. I love it to death and I have no qualms changing batteries, even when I'm shooting something important. And anyway, I've gotten used to knowing/estimating(not like you'd need to estimate for the PSP) the life of batteries so I never hit the low-battery signal. And I pretty much always know to keep the spare fully charged. I'd know better than to expect to play for a while when I only have half the battery life left.

However, this does raise the issue of durability. The DS did have it's problems, but it was only a handfull of units that had dead pixels, which is a problem ALL lcd devices have.

Most retailers are stressing the fact that these problems don't occur in the majority of PSPs, but take caution in importing until Sony gives an official announcement.

Hold on the imports and wait for the US release :) Your warranty, I'm sure, will be easier to work with.

The DS does not have this problem. The DS has a clamshell design, so the screen is protected. Nintendo gives you an extra stylus in case you lose one. The DS uses flash carts, so there are no moving parts that can break.

I know the Value pack provides a case(does the non-value offer it too?), not much of one if you drop it, but a case none the less. It should prevent scratches and the like when the PSP is placed in your bag or something. Screen protection? Check! Extra stylus? What stylus?

Nintendo has been known for high quality products, while Sony is infamous for broken playstations.

This sadly, is true, but this argument just takes you back to the whole Sony vs. Nintendo argument. Anyway, I haven't heard of anyone ditching their PS2 because of faulty hardware and the likes, not saying there aren't people that complain about it. I'm saying, I myself have never come across anyone who's completely abandoned their Sony product.

All things considered, the DS is a better investment to me.

All things considered, I can't freakin wait to get my hands on a PSP!
