questions about bold and diff . style colors, and italized also how to put them in Options

i have lot's of questions like i saw other examples of codes where it makes it so that the bold is a different color or the underline is a different color. But i put that code in miye webstats section and i put the bold html code in miye weblog entry but it won't put the code to action it just u noe reads it how it is so if i put <b/fdjklfds>, or something then it doesn't bold the words inside it just stays like that EXAMPLE!!! please write me steps in which i make it bold like is there a code box in the entry thing or ?? please i need lots of help!!
