Mos Def in DC, dammit pen, dammit steve. Options

I am sooooooo upset right now. I just found out today that Mos Def is gonna be at the 9:30 Club tonight in DC. Anybody who knows me knows how big of a Mos Def fan. I would give anything to see that man perform live, to touch his hand, just to be in his presence! I would go if I could find somebody to go with but none of my friends are into Mos Def, let alone Underground Hip Hop music. Even my BF won't go with me, he accused me of being a "groupie". THE NERVE!

I am sooooo sad. Weep with me.

I'll admit that... his hip-hop tracks did not match the greatness of those on his previous albums. But I think it was a great album nonetheless. I admire he had the balls to experiment and expand his musical talent outside the hip-hop realm.

"Sunshine" showcases his greatness, I think. And a few of the other tracks were genius as well... such as "Beggar" and "Modern Marvel".

Sunshine doesn't showcase "greatness"... it was WAY subpar for Mos Def... DEFINITELY... it was a cool track but a "cool track" isn't enough for Mos Def... last two albums he's been on were classics... he can't come with subpar stuff...

and I don't give props for "balls"... I have balls, so do I deserve props? LMFAO... jus' playin' but I respect "good music"... I don't care what form of music you make but you should stick to what you're good at... if you're not good at somethin' and try to do it, I won't like/respect it...

I respect Mos Def for his achievements but if his next album doesn't show off his actual skill then I'm not coppin' that one either...
