emo short for emotional.
I don't know much about it. But one of my friends says that sometimes she's emo for just a day if she sad or something. So... I guess you can be emo and you can listen to emo music. My brother said emo music is like a rock boy band. Kind of like the backstreet boys except rock. I laughed at that
