QUOTE(my_papaya @ Nov 22 2004, 2:53 PM) wow youre dumb f**k no. look it up. dont spread the f**king ignorance, you idiot. where the hell do you live that is so sheltered that you hink being mormon is where you sleep with family members?? dammit, its a f**king religion, not a cult. thats why at the beginning of the topic, it says "its a religion" gaaaahhh people like you piss me off LOL. Yah...I think I'm confusing people with my little tidbit on incest. MORMONISM IS A RELIGION. IT IS NOT A CULT, NOR DOES IT PRACTICE INCEST. (definition: Mormon. noun a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a religion founded in the US in 1830 by Joseph Smith (1805-44), who claimed to have found and translated the Book of Mormon, which is taken as scriptural alongside the Bible.) I'm only saying that in some rural mormon communities, INCEST HAPPENS. It is NOT an official part of the religion. A fact that applies to all Mormons is that they believe in polygamy, which is still a little weird, but not as weird as incest. The leader of that specific mormon community was a bit like a cult-leader, though. It's believed that the more sexual partners/wives you have, the more power you have in a mormon community. There was always arranged "meetings" between women and men, and a lot of times the women in those "meetings" get raped. Because of all this raping and unprotected sex, it ended up in tons of babies, babies who didn't know who their fathers or mothers were. And they grow up to have sex with other people, who also don't know who their fathers or mothers were, so it's very possible for them to have sex with their brothers or sisters and not know it. This one woman they interviewed in the documentary had really complicated relatives. Something like her aunt was also her sister, and all that messed-up-ness. Again, I'm saying, THIS ONLY HAPPENED IN A RURAL MORMON COMMUNITY, RULED BY THIS EVIL TYRANT OF A LEADER. A NORMAL MORMON FAMILY WOULD HAVE NO SUCH RELATIONS. |
