have you noticed how the world is completely against left handed people?
school desks- as if those desks arent uncomfortable enough, lets just put the arm rest only on the right side, which makes writing with your left hand completely akward sissors- cutting with sissors and getting straight lines or good curves is just hard computer mouses/mice/meeces- theyre on the right, which although over time you adjust, it still makes drawing steadily difficult, especially when vectoring, which might just account for part of the reason im so terrible at it writing left to right- with our writing system, moving you hand left to right with your right hand is quite easy because you can pull it along, where as lefties have to push their hand along the paper, which takes more energy, is slower, and it gets the side of your hand rediculously dirty because it rubs the paper and smears the lead/ink see, its not easy, and its not fair. we should start a left handed peoples support activist group, or something of the sort. i mean sure, i may be able to get a scholarship for it, but thats about the only advantage. this unfair treatment of left handed people is unjust, and at the very least they should provide some lfet handed desks |

QUOTE(atpx @ Nov 22 2004, 6:42 PM) I'm not sure you understand. Yes, modern chinese is now written from left to right on a PAPER. But when you write a CHARACTER, you start a stroke from the left and draw to the right. It is DIFFICULT for lefties, TRUST me. And when you write Chinese...no part of your hand should be touching the paper anyways...how did people write calligraphy if they kept their hands on the surface?? [EDIT] Sorry if this sounded bitchy...I feel bitchy right now. I just hate it when people say stuff that is ignorant. Especially when you don't have to go through the situation. Argh. And yes, lefties and righties sitting next to each other is a frustrating situation. But I rarely get that problem now since I know how to save space on my left side. "Oh my god, I have to write the character for "1" from left to right! THE END OF THE WORLD IS COMING." Suck it up. If you have to deal with so much other problems, like scissors or smudging, don't you think by now writing would be no problem? If you think writing Chinese characters with your left hand is unnatural, then why do you write like that at all? Speaking of ignorance... Are you even Chinese at all? NO ONE writes Chinese with pencil like they write Chinese with a brush. Chinese writing is NOT calligraphy. Calligraphy is an art, an art with a certain technique. It requires hands off the surface. MODERN CHINESE PEOPLE DO NOT FOLLOW THE CALLIGRAPHY TECHNIQUES TO WRITE A SIMPLE SENTENCE FOR HOMEWORK. PEOPLE WILL LOOK AT YOU LIKE YOU ARE SOME CHINESE WANNABE. |
