Okay my big sister has i guess you could call an "illness" called, cerebral palsy, which is kind of like a birth affect. its what happens when your born and you don't get enough oxygen to the brain, most babies are immature, and don't cry for the first 5 minutes of delivery. Some kids that have CP are often mistaken for children who are retarded (that is not an insult, they are really classifed as mentally retarted), because they can't walk or because they can't speak clearly, and lately i've seen more ignorant people saying terrible and stupid things about how her and her friends (who also have CP) are retarded (insult) and stuff like that, and i was thinking about it, do any of you ever laugh at some one in a wheelchair, or because they might be a little slow academically? or because they aren't as "normal" as you?
sorry but it was just pissing me off at the moment |

How sad... but one thing..
QUOTE Some kids that have CP are often mistaken for children who are retarded (that is not an insult, they are really classifed as mentally retarted) when you define a word... or put it in a category.. don't use the word again... in short, you said... retarded=mentally retarded... which is wrong.. Go with.. Mentally Handicapped. It's like saying ... sarcasm means the use of sarcasm and that's not really telling us anything... Anyway, I just had to point that out since you acted as if you were teaching us something... |
