You want to surprise him! But not surprise him that you accidentally punch out his eye or something lol when you have your arms flailling after him lol. Juts make a surprise one, but smile (be happy) before, while, and afte ryou hug him. It shows that you want to hug him and that you appreciate your first hug with him.
Sorta like this  <-- see, it's surprising but it's sweet and caring. Aww, I remember hugging my bf =)
