this was taken from http://www.xanga.com/john in regards to the recent xanga virus and things to come.
"I'm sorry about this... we've been steadily increasing the security on Xanga over the past year. We just disabled META tags last week because some users were using them to redirect users to spam/porn sites... and now we're going to have to start disabling more JavaScript, so that this can't happen again. We're migrating towards a JavaScript free system, as we add native support for a lot of the things that people are now kludging with JavaScript. In the meantime, we are moving forward on a developing investigation to bring this attacker to justice." |

And that person didn't cause the Xanga Virus, some idiots claim to have caused it for attention... well, some of us better start looking for hosts to host us for blogs...and think of the money, the Xanga Team will lose without some of us... yes when i try to tell you guys, it is called spam, but other people may spam by posting it again and again and only say that once you have your facts STRAIGHT anyway, im guessing a javascript free enviorment will be hard to manage have you seen the coding for the ad? an html banner would be too easy to remove, i think it'll be a long while before they disable javascript |
