My Best Friend Hates Me... Options

Hey. Okay, I have a best friend and her name is Brittany Keyes. and she has been "dating" this guy Matt Holman for about a month now. But its the thing where like "we make out but we're not an OFFICIAL couple" type thing. So he's not really her boyfriend. But this past weekend I hung out w/ him and a few of my friends and like we were flirting. I'll admit that. and like he was like "so are we gunna have a foursome or what?" and I said "oooh yeah, you know it" and JOKINGLY acted like I was undoing his pants. So come Monday, I told my friend Jamie about it *whom had KISSED Matt not even a week before* thinking I could trust her. Turns out 6th hour, she tells Brittany EVERYTHING. Brittany gets PISSED. However--she's not mad at MATT or JAMIE but for sum reason is only mad at me. Do you think she has a right to be mad at me, since I didn't really do anything? I mean I could've done more w/ him if I wanted to but I didn't. PLEASE HELP ME. She still won't talk to me and I won't to know if I'm in the wrong here. THANKS!

I think it's your fault.

Now why would she be mad at Jamie? Think about it - when telling Britney about you and Matt, would Jamie tell Britney about how they kissed? No. No one in their right mind would say that. And even if you told Britney after she got pissed at you that Jamie kissed Matt, Britney probably wouldn't even believe you. After all, you were hitting on her "boyfriend".

She's not mad at Matt because he's not even her real boyfriend. If she cared enough they'd actually be together officially. The real reason she's pissed off is because she think she can't trust YOU, her best friend.

That's the reason she's pissed off at you. It's not because you hit on her boyfriend, as I think she wouldn't care so much about it. It's because she thinks you've abused her trust.

Here's the moral of the story:

DON'T FLIRT WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND'S (SUPPOSED) SIGNIFICANT OTHER.

Even though your were 'joking' you were still flirting. (Which you admitted) If I were her I'd be mad at both you and Matt. (not Jamie cause I wouldn't of known about her) I think you should go apoligize and tell her you didn't mean to hurt her. But be nice when you say it. No attitude, cause then your not really sorry.
