Does anyone know any Asian Superstitions? (Sorry)
It has to be asian because I have to do an interview, but I'm chinese...And the whole project idea is how did Halloween change over the years? But yeah, Iono any grandparents living in my neighborhood except for my own, but they didn't have Halloween..So superstitions are my next choice.. For Example: After people pass away, we have to burn money or something to pay respects...and then something about spirits and ghost ...*shrugs* Does anyone know any? Project Due: 11/8 |

QUOTE(somechinkgirl @ Nov 3 2004, 4:30 PM) Thanks guys, but I need something that refers to Halloween..like ghosts and stuff.. Ohh... well in that case. I know a couple of Chinese death/creepy/supernatural superstitions. In the Lunar Year 7th month 14th day, it's the day when the ghosts come out from the underworld and roam earth. You could probably find some more information about this on the web, since it's a pretty well-known date. People burn offerings to their ancestors so they don't bother/"haunt" them on that day. And pink_tootsie, that's called Feng Shui. ![]() And there are some reincarnation superstitions too. Ugh. It's too bad these Chinese superstitions have way too much to do with dates and times and specific numbers. I can't remember how long it takes for someone to cross the bridge to reincarnate. Or like how many days you're supposed to mourn, and how to mourn for a deceased loved one. |
