see-through entry and side module b/g?

--> My xanga <-- Ok, you see how my background for my blog entrys, and my side module are black? Is there a way to make it so they're still somewhat black but like a see through color so you can still see the checkers through it but make it look like it has a black film behind it instead of solid black? Sorry if there's script up for this, I looked and didn't see, I'd really appreciate your help!

It doesn't work in Mozilla.
Works perfectally in IE.... But in Mozilla it's solid.
That may or may not be why it doesn't work.
