Alright. So if you had the choice of being in a serious relationship with someone "safe" OR testing the waters a bit and leading an exciting and more "daring" dating life instead, which would you choose?

I ask because I'm currently in that sort of situation. There is this guy I've been seeing for 2 1/2 years but we recently broke up. Since then, I've been dating around a bit and have actually been having a pretty good time too. The problem is, I don't really share a "deep connection" with any of the other guys I've been dating. It's all just for "fun" and to add a little spice to my love life I guess, but nothing serious. My ex boyfriend on the other hand, is total hubby material and he's recently expressed his desire to get back together and to repair the problems we had before. Now I don't know what to do because one part of me wants to be with him, to love him as I had before. But the other part of me wants to continue this more spontaneous and thrilling lifestyle I've picked up. I mean, I am only 21 years old, should I be settling down already? I really do love him but I'm worried that I'm missing out on something... at the same time, I don't want to lose him either.

I hope this isn't all to confusing. I'm sure I'm making it more complicated than it is.

I have two answers, actually...

The thing is, if it were me, I would go for a daring relationship and date just for fun. But after all, I am a lot younger than you, so under no circumstances would I consider a serious relationship. However...

Settling down is something that is a personal decision, and the age seems to be different for every woman or man. But if you think that 21 is old enough to settle down, then by all means, get back together with your man. But remember, that there really isn't anything legal connecting the two of you. If you get back together with him and feel the urge to date less seriously, you can always break up. There ARE no rings, after all... =]
